Taking the stairs is one of the easiest way to get your cardio in for the day. If you are out & you have the option to take the stairs or elevator, don’t take the elevator; take the stairs. Your body will thank you for it & THEN you will also thank your body; for making your legs look amazing. Stairs are extremely easy to find. You might have stairs at your job or in your house/building, or even at the park.  They are everywhere & you can do so much with stairs. Stairs are so great, that someone actually invented, a stair machine. Which is usually at ALL gyms & is one of the best form of cardio out there.

Now if that doesn’t convince you to start taking the stairs then here are 5 reasons why.

1.Building Muscles

Yes, stairs can actually help build those quads and glutes! Your legs can get SUPER toned by just taking the stairs every day. Also, it can help with maintaining those muscles. Walking up the stairs engages your core muscles as well! Now remember, the more muscles you build the more calories you burn! The stairs can get you much closer to your goals.

Did you know when you build muscles that it can actually reduce the rate of injury?  So build those muscles!!

2. Improves Cardiovascular Fitness

Just like Boxing, Stairs can also improve your Cardiovascular Health. Which is great! Meaning you get to live a little longer. When your cardiovascular health is stronger, you can also prevent Cardiovascular Disease. When you climb a flight of stairs and your heart is pumping, that’s good for you. You always have an option where ever you go, whether to take the stairs or elevator. That simple decision everyday to take the stair can actually prevent you from having CD. I don’t know about you, but that alone motivates me to take the stairs EVERYDAY.

3. Stairs Can Relieve Stress & Make You More Focused

Did you know that stairs can relieve your stress? Just like any regular workouts, your endorphins release when you climb the stairs. That alone can make you so much more healthier & happier. Working out/ climbing stairs can help you release any tension and can lower your stress levels. Also, climbing stairs can make you a lot more focused. Now wouldn’t that be AMAZING before going to work? Its like you are sharpening your mind before work; AND then coming to work with lower stress & a lot more focused. Well, I don’t know about you, but that alone makes me want to climb the stairs everyday.

4. Taking The Stairs Can Burn More Calories Then Jogging

Taking stairs is a lot more effective then taking a jog. The stairs are more effective because your are going upwards & against gravity. You can also burn much more calories by climbing the stairs. You can also do so much more with the stairs and get creative with your workout. When you usually jog you have only an option to walk or run during your jogging time or you can jog straight through. Also, your workout will be harder but it can be a lot shorter by using the stairs as your workout.

As we say at our gym the hardest part of coming to the gym is coming up those stairs; but when you get up here you will never regret coming inside. We love integrating our stairs in our workouts!
