Boxing is a demanding, rewarding workout for anyone focused on physical fitness. Beyond building strength and conditioning, boxing challenges the mind and helps relieve daily stress. If you find yourself searching online for a great boxing gym, South Beach Boxing on Washington Avenue in Miami Beach is equipped for your training goals, whether you want to spar or work rounds on a 200lb heavy bag.
Finding the Right Boxing Gym
Finding a gym with genuine boxing roots can be difficult. South Beach Boxing combines authentic boxing technique with full-body fitness. We maintain high-grade equipment, including some great speedbag platforms designed for proper rebound control, and we continually adapt our space based on member feedback.
South Beach Boxing carries on the tradition of the original 5th Street Boxing Gym after that historic building was torn down in 1992. In 1998, we opened our doors just 2 blocks away on 7th and Washington, occupying a similar authentic second-floor space. If you want to train in a gym with real boxing heritage, our doors are open. High-intensity bag work will leave you sore, but that physical challenge is part of the process.
Experienced Fight Trainers and Coaches
Our coaching staff includes professional fighters and fight trainers who understand proper mechanics and conditioning. Whether your goal is to build lean muscle, increase stamina, or develop sharp striking technique, our coaches teach you how to generate power from your entire body.
We emphasize pound-for-pound training: using every pound of body weight efficiently so every movement and punch has balance and purpose.

Get Fit Without Getting Hit
South Beach Boxing provides real boxing instruction in an approachable environment. While we accommodate serious sparring and fighter preparation, roughly 99 percent of our members train to get fit, lean, and confident through the training regimen of a boxer without ever taking a hit. Our small group classes focus on heavy bag work, footwork, and core conditioning.
Our community centers on hard work and supportive members rather than attitude or intimidation. If you want an authentic workout surrounded by people serious about their health, our Miami Beach gym offers that environment.
Boxing Training for Every Experience Level
Our classes accommodate total beginners alongside experienced boxers. Most newcomers have never put on a pair of boxing gloves before walking through our doors. Our coaches teach you how to wrap your hands, throw straight punches with proper form, hit the heavy bag safely, and move with balance. You do not need fight experience to train like a fighter.
