A lifelong Martial artist, Lloyd Walton or “Kru Lucky,” as he is known by his students, is driven to make a difference in the lives of others. Since he was first introduced to the martial arts through Kung fu theater on the weekends Lucky was determined to learn about the arts. This dream began at the age of nine when he enrolled in Tae Kwon Do and fell completely in love with Eastern philosophies. Over the years and through a move to Texas and Miami Lucky had the chance to train with other martial artists with several different styles and backgrounds.
“I always felt at home doing martial arts. I think it’s important to do things in life that are challenging.”
After accepting an offer from some friends to come and try a kickboxing class at South Beach Boxing Lucky knew he had reignited his passion. However it was kickboxing that had grabbed his attention this time. After training for a couple of years Lucky realized that he had found his passion and wanted to learn to become an instructor.
After about five years of training, and becoming more and more obsessed with the booming new sport called MMA Lucky was given an opportunity to teach group classes at the same gym he started at, South Beach Boxing. Shortly after that he began an amateur fighting career that brought him three titles in three different organizations. Far exceeding what anyone including himself had even thought possible.
“There is no escaping your true self inside the ring. Your truth will be shown.”
As if that wasn’t enough, Lucky started training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has accrued a handful of medals in competition. Lucky has truly immersed himself in his teaching and building of his brand simply named “Lucky’s Muay Thai”. It includes writing a blog and podcast (available for download on iTunes) about martial arts and life, a t-shirt company, a regularly competing amateur team, group and private classes. An accomplished martial artist, a compassionate instructor, a friend and a father, Kru Lucky understands the challenges of life and wants to help you achieve your goals inside and outside of the gym.
Lucky is available for one-on-one and group personal training sessions. Please contact the gym at 305.712.6041 to schedule personal training sessions. You may also check our class schedule for additional information.
