WHY SOUTH BEACH BOXING & OUR HISTORY
We’re now in our 20th year of transforming tens of thousands of lives from all over the world. We are the Original World Famous gym on South Beach.
We opened in 1998, just a few years after they tore down the 5th St. Gym, and its building, in 1992 for good. We were the rebirth of the original on 5th & Washington and we’re the continuation of the legacy of boxing on Miami Beach. We opened in a similar space, also upstairs on the 2nd floor, a few years after the 5th St Gym building was condemned, just 2 blocks down the street, on 7th & Washington. We are the longest running gym in Miami Beach. We created boxing workouts to the fitness world. The 5th St. Gym catered only to professional fighters, many, many greats came out of there. Angelo Dundee trained 15 World Champions out of there. We actually dedicated a plaque to Angelo Dundee for that accomplishment & you can go visit it there on 5th Street on the side of the Wachovia Bank bldg., exactly where the entrance to the original 5th St. Gym used to be. Then after they closed in 1992, we continued the legacy of boxing on Miami Beach with all the professional fighters and then created mainstream, badass, workouts for people who wanted to get super lean and fit like a boxer and in unbelievable shape. Our slogan at the time was “Come Train With the Pros.” We had Beau Jack, Roberto Duran, Vinny Pazienza, ALL 3 Camachos training together, Roy Jones, Bernard Hopkins and many, many more training with us for all their camps and trainings while down in South Florida. We also had Angelo Dundee with us almost daily for about 7-9 years.

With more than 25 years in the fitness industry, owner, Jolie Glassman has assembled an award-winning team of gurus in discipline and technique from around the world, who provide members with the motivation for a complete mind and body transformation on a daily basis. Every class packs a punch! A FULL 60-minute, intense, head-to-toe workout that incorporates strength, power, resistance, plyometric, explosive, and interval training AND we cater to ALL levels….BEGINNER TO ADVANCED. You’ll burn up to 1,000 calories, YOU WILL NEVER GET HIT (unless you choose to participate in our contact sports) and be in and out so fast you’ll forget you’re even working out – not to mention how much FUN you’ll be having! EVERY class is DIFFERENT too (you’ll never take the same class twice), so you’ll never be bored and you’ll always be challenged! You will always be learning and gaining strength and knowledge that will transfer into all other areas of your life. We bring out your inner badass and transform your ENTIRE life; IN ALL AREAS. In our boxing and kickboxing classes, everyone gets their own 150 lb. heavy bag to punch and kick, and the instructors always comes around and help you at YOUR level. We are an ALL-inclusive gym with over 40 classes a week including Boxing, Muay Thai/Kickboxing, MMA, Warrior Workouts, Cross Training, Sparring, Technique, Boot Camps, In&Out Workouts and Jolie’s Kids/Anti-Bully/Self-Defense classes, plus a fully equipped gym with full weight training facilities and cardio machines.
